Tim Beals - Musical Composer

 

South Auckland born Tim is one of New Zealand's up and coming young composers.  After graduating with a Degree in Music Composition from Victoria University of Wellington in 2005, he now shares his time between playing in his band, writing music and working for the popular NZ music label, Loop.

 

 

Mark D'Ath - Digital Director & Animator

 

A keen skateboarder, Mark is a trained 2D and 3D animator.   He lives in Wellington and is currently working for an established animation company.  For Blue Willow, Mark spent 8 weeks creating the final animation on Adobe After Effects.

Tom Simpson - Cell Animator

 

Tom is a freelance illustrator based in Wellington.  For Blue Willow, he had to draw 27 separate images for every second of footage in order to animate the flying dragon, the tear drop that transforms into a butterfly, and the roasted duck being torn apart.  He then photographed each page which were later put together in Photoshop.

 

 

Dave Batt - Concept Artist & Storyboards

 

Dave is a freelance illustrator and writer.  He has worked for a variety of publications including Victoria University's Salient magazine.  His early sketches were crucial in developing the "look" of Blue Willow.

 

 

Jing He - Voice of Koong-se

 

Jing is originally from Haikou, the capital of Hainan Island, off the coast of mainland China.  She lives in Wellington with her husband and manages one of Wellington's student hostels.  It was her first time recording voice-over for an animated film.

 

 

Tom Beachamp - Voice of Tajin & Father

 

Tom is also a graduate of New Zealand's prestigious Toi Whakaari NZ Drama School.  As well as a being a physical theatre director, Tom is also an accomplished actor and circus performer.

 

 

Dan Caddy - Voice of Chang

 

Dan is an acting graduate of Toi Whakaari NZ Drama School.  He has starred in numerous stage productions, radio dramas and the television series "The Strip", a New Zealand comedy about a male strip club.
